West Africa pastoral seminar
Foster spiritual growth and leadership within the church by joining us in our endeavor to strengthen and empower pastors in West Africa.
Our Program goals
At the heart of our organization is a deeply-rooted commitment to the establishment of new churches and the education of future pastors. We are keenly aware that vast expanses of Western Africa are yet to hear the life-altering message of the Gospel. Driven by this understanding, our goal is to plant churches that not only believe in the teachings of the Bible but are also resilient and dynamic. We aspire for these churches to mature and prosper, eventually multiplying and expanding their influence, echoing the biblical principle found in Matthew 28:19, “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations”.

About Our Program
“Preach the word; be prepared in season and out of season; correct, rebuke and encourage—with great patience and careful instruction.”
– Timothy 4:2
At WALYM, we’re inspired by the model of Jesus Christ, who not only called His apostles but also took the time to nurture and train them. Through our West Africa Pastoral Training (WAPS) program, we aspire to uphold this tradition, recognizing that while the call to ministry is divine, the journey requires guidance and support. The WAPS program is tailor-made for pastors who, due to their commitments to their churches and families, are unable to return to traditional Bible school. It serves to supplement their knowledge, reinvigorate their spirits, and reinforce their commitment to pastoral duties.
The WAPS program is designed in three core sections: in-depth scriptural teaching, doctrinal workshops to clarify and enhance understanding, and corporate worship to unite all in shared faith and purpose. Our intention is not only to provide theological knowledge but also to instill practical skills for pastoral care, guiding our pastors in their sacred responsibility of tending their flocks.
We recognize the material needs of our participants as well, striving to provide for those who may be lacking. During our sessions, WALYM often supplies meals at lunch and break times, ensuring that no participant goes hungry. Moreover, while we don’t maintain a permanent teaching staff, we’re privileged to work with dedicated educators from both the U.S. and Africa, all of whom align with the WALYM doctrinal statement.
Our WAPS program typically runs in the summer months of June and July and in the winter period of December to February. If you are a pastor considering how to spend your leave or vacation time, we invite you to invest that time into growing your knowledge and inspiring others. We’re ready to provide more details and facilitate your journey in teaching, so please do not hesitate to contact us.
